Stories from MULOA

As part of the MULOA process we have been hearing incredible stories about what our members are already doing in their communities and we thought we would share them with you here. We will update this page as and when the stories reach us.

From the Britain & Ireland Pilot Workshop

Mothers’ Union members in Kendal (Carlisle Diocese) built relationships with people living with dementia by participating in a monthly communion service within the care home. With others in their church, they then invited the residents to a musical event at the church. This ripple of activity spread into a book group and a dementia service followed by cake and coffee within the church, to which they invite other care homes as well. The impact can be seen in the lives of the residents: for example, a retired member of clergy, formerly confused and uncertain, now takes part in the service, doing the reading or the prayers, and returning to the work they love.
