Christmas Time Support

We are well aware of what a busy and stressful time of year it can be for parents and carers alike. The commercialisation of Christmas is something that we see increasing year on year as well as the pressure that is felt by adults it can mean the heart of Christmas gets lost under the piles of presents.

Mothers’ Union wants to support parents this Christmas and as part of the Bye Buy Childhood campaign, we have produced some great resources and ideas of how to survive this Christmas time whilst highlighting what's really important. We suggest four alternative gifts that parents or carers can give to their children: time, confidence, friendship skills and safety. For more information and to access the available resources, click here.

Christmas can also be a difficult time of year for those who feel isolated and unsupported, for those entering testing times and those experiencing heartache and loss. Emotions, stress and difficult situations can be heightened at this time of year and it is important that people are aware that there is an existing network there, ready to help, no matter what the problem may be.  We have compiled an agency contact list which has relevant details suitable for all those in need.

If you are looking for specific help with issues of corncern regarding children we have a dedicated list which can be found here
