Families Worldwide

In Families Worldwide we publish the Wave of Prayer along with a daily prayer diary. Prayer is central to our work as Mothers’ Union and this expression of commitment allows us to support families and projects around the globe.

Family Lent Calendar

The season of Lent starts on Ash Wednesday, which is 6 March this year. One way of counting the days through Lent in preparation for the festival of Easter is to do something special every day, and this calendar has ideas for you to use. Lent is also a reminder of the 40 days Jesus spent in the desert fasting and praying. There are actually 46 days in Lent, but the Sundays are not included because each one is seen as a “mini-Easter”, celebrating Jesus’ victory over sin and death. (This calendar includes ideas for you to use on the Sundays too).
