Thy Kingdom Come 2023

For Thy Kingdom Come 2023 Mothers' Union are encouraging members to hold events in their local areas, and involve both their own church and other local churches.

22 Feb 2023

“For this year’s Thy Kingdom Come, Mother’s Union members are encouraged to hold local events where people can join together, encourage each other and pray “Thy Kingdom Come on earth as it is in heaven”. As we gather, I pray that we will know and experience the filling of God’s Holy Spirit to equip us to share the love of God with all who we meet, in words and actions. As we pray for people in our families, churches and local communities, worldwide, especially those in particular need, I pray that God will bless and lead us in the way he has for us, as individuals and together”.  Bishop Emma Ineson, MU Central Chaplain

For the past few years MU has engaged in the Thy Kingdom Come global call to prayer primarily by holding a service for members and friends, firstly in person and latterly online.

This year, we are instead encouraging members to hold events in their local areas, and involve both their own church and other local churches.

The expanded remit of Thy Kingdom Come this year to “go the extra mile, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to love and serve those we are praying for or others who are in need”  fits particularly well with our vision and mission, and also gives good opportunity to share this with others, who may be less aware of MU.
