The next elections will take place in the coming months, under the new Constitution. The process has 2 stages: nominations and voting, and both take place under the Code of Conduct
The Worldwide President will be elected by all the Diocesan Presidents and Provincial Presidents around the world, together with current and former Worldwide Presidents and Central President, and all current Board members (the “Electoral College”).
Anyone who has not already served for 6 years as Worldwide or Central President, and has been a member for more than 5 years, is eligible for nomination. All nominees must complete a candidate information form, and be nominated by 2 members of the electoral college, from 2 different zones.
There will be 11 “Zonal Trustees”, each elected by a defined set of Provinces worldwide. In addition to their duties as general trustees, each will be expected to act as a “bridge” between the Provinces and the worldwide charity, ensuring that the voices of members are heard, and that key information reaches all members.
For this Triennium, each Province within Britain and Ireland will be a single Zone.
The electoral college will be those members of the Worldwide President Electoral College resident in the Zone, and, where appropriate to ensure a minimum size of college ( 40 ), other nominated leaders from within that Zone.
Anyone who has not already served for 6 years on the Worldwide Board (in whatever role) and has been a member for more than 2 years, is eligible for nomination. All nominees must complete a candidate information form and be nominated by 2 members from the electoral college for their Zone, where feasible from 2 different Provinces
The election process will begin at the start of August, after the Nominations Committee has prepared shortlists for each role and papers are sent out, and voting will close at midnight on 30th September, 2018
