Happy New Year!

"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” Isaiah 40:31.

What a wonderful verse for the start of the New Year!

2024 is truly a year of Hope, as the Reimagining journey, started in 2022, starts to yield exciting signs of Transformation for Mothers’ Union, with new shoots coming up across the dioceses.

It is also the year when, at Pentecost, the first certificates will be awarded to churches and Mothers’ Union branches and churches who have taken on the RISE UP! Challenge, and have reached bronze, silver and possibly also gold levels. It has been heartwarming to hear the stories of Mothers’ Union in action to counter the scourge of domestic abuse, 365 days a year. A particular delight for me was when a (non-MU) visitor for New Year’s Eve told me “Great to see a poster with help numbers in a toilet when we stopped at a café on our journey – just what is needed!”

Whether your calling is as a prayer warrior, officer, or giving service to fellow members and your community – thank you so much for all you have done in 2023, and I look forward to journeying together through 2024, as we begin the countdown to the 150^th Anniversary of Mothers’ Union in 2026.
