Mothers' Union supports Human Rights Day

Human Rights Day is observed by the international community every year on 10 December, commemorating the day in 1948 that the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

2023 marks the 75th anniversary of this groundbreaking pledge. For this year's Human Rights Day, Mothers’ Union has joined with the British Institute of Human Rights and hundreds of other UK civil society organisations to send a letter to the Prime Minister and political leaders in the UK. The letter highlights the everyday reality of human rights and the difference it makes to all of us in those “small places close to home” and calls for all political leaders to reaffirm their commitment to universal human rights.”
