Papa New Guinea

Papua New Guinea, located north of Australia, is a mountainous, rainforest-covered nation with a population of around 7 million, most living in rural areas. Due to its challenging terrain and isolation, it has developed nearly 800 local languages.  

Mothers’ Union has been active in Papua New Guinea since 1949, with members supporting communities through literacy programmes, health education, anti-violence campaigns, prison and hospital visits, and marriage counselling.
