South Africa

South Africa, located at the southern tip of the African continent, is a country of striking beauty and contrasts. Its relative stability and economic strength compared to neighbouring nations have made it a destination for asylum seekers and refugees. Despite this, many families continue to face significant challenges, including poverty, HIV/AIDS, unemployment, crime, and domestic violence.

Mothers’ Union has over 60,000 members in South Africa, all working at the heart of their communities to support and strengthen family life. While activities vary depending on local needs, key areas of focus include campaigning against gender-based violence, support for those living with HIV/AIDS, and menstrual health drives.
