South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea, located in East Asia, covers the southern part of the Korea peninsula. The country has seen major urbanisation with over 80% of the population now living in cities, bringing new challenges to communities and family life.  

Mothers’ Union in South Korea is active in all parts of the country, both urban and rural environments, with over 1,000 members actively responding to a wide range of issues with initiatives such as support for the homeless and elderly, gender equality campaigns, counselling for women in prostitution, marriage preparation, clergy family support, and events like hymn festivals and art exhibitions.
