Uganda, located in East Africa, has seen economic growth in recent decades. Despite this, poverty levels have increased during the same period, with nearly 20% of the population living below the poverty line.
Mothers’ Union has been active in Uganda for over 110 years and now has 21,500 members. Their work focuses on empowering families and communities through programmes such as parenting support, vocational training, savings groups, health education, environmental protection, orphan care, and campaigns against gender-based violence. They also offer pastoral care, support for maternal and child health, mentorship for girls, and initiatives promoting peace, reconciliation, and sustainable farming.
