Mothers' Union Diocese of Bath & Wells

The Diocese of Bath & Wells has a large, active Mothers’ Union that work hard supporting families and those in need in various ways. We run many different projects on a diocesan, deanery and branch level. 

In Bath & Wells we have 1,261 Mothers' Union members in over 45 branches. The branches meet regularly and support a wide variety of projects both in and outside of the diocese. For a full list of all our branches arranged by deanery please visit our website.

Our work:

Diocesan Projects:

• Away From It All (AFIA) holidays
• Child Contact Centres
• Craft:- both Knitting and Sewing
• Parenting groups
• Supporting Women’s Refuges

Deanery Projects:

• Student cookbooks (Bath and Taunton Deaneries) for new students
• Wash bags for A&E’s and refuges (Chew Magna Deanery)
• Story sacks for schools (various deaneries)

Branch Projects:

• Teddies for Tragedies (various branches)
• Teddies for baptisms (Cheddar, Wrington, Christ Church Nailsea, Wraxall and Yatton Branches)
• Newborn bags (Christ Church Branch, Nailsea)
• Baptism packs (Bridgewater)
• Help at pre-school (Cleeve and Claverham)
• Under-5’s picnic, and fellowship lunches (Cleeve and Claverham)

You can join as a branch member and get involved with Mothers' Union at a local level. Branches are attached to parishes, and often meet up to pray and support members, learn more about the work of Mothers' Union, and get involved with projects and campaigns.
