Mothers' Union Diocese of Chester

In the Diocese of Chester we have 110 branches with about 3,000 members. We have our own personal worldwide links with six dioceses and have set up a soup kitchen project with Cape Town which receives support from the membership and provides 32 soup kitchens throughout the winter months.

We are involved in a range of different activities both within our diocese and helping with relief work abroad.

Our work:

• Knitted Items, including knitting for Nepal and Fiddle Pinnies
• We run a stall at the Cheshire Show
• We run parenting courses
• Away From It All holidays
• Prison visit help at the Young Offenders Institute, Thorn Cross
• Virtual babies to educate teenagers
• Ouch Pouches containing a mini first aid kit donated to Bridge Foyer in Chester
• Some members help local clergy at wedding fairs
