Members in the diocese enthusiastically support Mothers’ Union initiatives and projects, as well as supporting activities arranged or coordinated by their churches and parishes.

Members promote family life through parenting group work, marriage support and campaigning for family-supportive policies, whilst at the same time upholding families affected by poverty, homelessness, imprisonment and relationship break-down.

Our work:

  • Away From It All (AFIA) holidays
  • Helpful books for children
  • Supporting victims of modern slavery and human trafficking
  • Parenting courses
  • Parent and toddler groups
  • Lunch clubs
  • Baptism preparation
  • 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
  • Outreach into local schools
  • Knitting

Members are not all mothers, or even all women. Mothers’ Union provides a network for all our four million members, through which they can serve Christ in their own community – through prayer, financial support and actively working at the grassroot level in programmes that meet local need.

We have three forms of membership in the diocese: Branch, Diocesan and Indoor Membership.
