We are a dynamic charity, always on the lookout for new kinds of outreach. Often we work in partnership with other charities, to enhance their provision for the vulnerable by providing holidays, workshops or support. Our members' work is underpinned by worship, both at branch level and in bigger events.

We have over 1,000 members in 46 branches, including 60 diocesan members. Branches look for local projects, but also strongly support our diocesan projects.

Our work:

  • Away From It All holidays and away days
  • Baptism support in parishes
  • Shoe boxes full of gifts for the homeless at Christmas
  • Skills workshops for vulnerable women
  • Backpacks full of necessities for prisoners released from HMP Northumberland
  • Activity aprons for dementia sufferers

Your involvement in Mothers’ Union in the Diocese of Newcastle could be through a branch at your local church, or through the activities of diocesan members. It could involve discussion of issues, baptism support, sewing, knitting or baking, or teaching others through a workshop, raising funds to give value to the lives of others, or taking a leadership role to enable a group to flourish.
