Diocese of Europe
Diocese of Exeter
The Diocese of Exeter covers the county of Devon, and is one of the largest dioceses geographically. Exeter Mothers’ Union is both large and active. We seek to support our local communities as best we can in dealing with the issues of rural isolation and poverty.
Our work is threefold: a diverse range of Mothers’ Union programmes meet the needs of individuals and families every day; our policy work challenges root causes of injustice; all of our work is underpinned by our Christian faith and a challenge to ‘love mercy, seek justice and walk humbly with our God.’ Micah 6:8.
Diocese of Glasgow & Galloway
Most Mothers’ Union members in the diocese worship in their local Scottish Episcopal church. Members come together to meet annually for worship and fellowship. Throughout the year members sensitively spread the news of a God who loves and cares for us all by supporting families and nurturing faith in the context they find themselves.
Diocese of Gloucester
The Diocese of Gloucester covers the county of Gloucestershire.
Diocese of Guildford
Mothers’ Union Guildford Diocese covers West Surrey and North-East Hampshire.
Diocese of Hereford
The Diocese of Hereford covers Herefordshire, southern Shropshire and a few parishes within Worcestershire, Powys and Monmouthshire. It is one of the oldest dioceses in the country and Mothers’ Union has been active for a long time, helping support local communities.
The range of help members can offer in practical matters is wide and varied. Worship and fellowship are uplifting and welcoming to all who are seeking comfort, acceptance, help, solace, prayer or simple human contact. Members are involved in all forms of parish work, whether at branch level or in our towns, villages, and city. We collaborate actively and financially, with local agencies to ease the pressure on the homeless, asylum seekers or those fleeing domestic violence especially through our Crisis Intervention Fund (known as CIF).
