Our vision statement is: Through the love of God and in partnership with the Church, we seek to reach out creatively and actively to support stable family relationships and to promote a more just society.

Most members meet in groups at churches sharing fellowship, fun and faith. Through prayer, projects, campaigns and fundraising we respond to needs, reaching out to support family life in all its forms.

The Diocese of Lichfield is diverse in its many communities across 1,700 square miles, from the Welsh border to the West Midlands conurbation, to Tamworth on the Leicester and Birmingham borders and to the Staffordshire Moorlands at the Derbyshire border, including the urban areas of Stoke-on-Trent and parts of the Black Country. Mothers’ Union therefore has to adapt locally to the situations we face, some of our most deprived parishes are amongst the worst in the country, but we also have some of the least deprived in the country as well.

Members can also be part of a Diocesan Fellowship Group, or individual members who join through the Diocesan Office and are invited to join Branch or Diocesan Activities.

Mothers’ Union groups meet regularly with prayer, worship, action and fun – exploring and supporting projects both locally, across the diocese and beyond. As part of our commitment to Mothers’ Union and our diocese we aim when possible, to work together to further God’s kingdom here on earth.
