Having established its constitution in 1896, Mothers’ Union was granted a Royal Charter in 1926 which has been updated as required, most recently in 2018. We are registered with the Charity Commission in England and Wales (240531).
Today, Mothers’ Union is a federation of over 600 independent Mothers’ Union charities around the world, supporting over 4 million members in 84 countries. The central charity acts as the umbrella organisation which provides co-ordination of activities and communication across the movement, ensures that the voice of members is heard on key issues, and also provides direct support to the membership within Britain and Ireland
