Other ways to fundraise

Get inspired to fundraise for Mothers' Union!

Fundraising Inspiration

    • Afternoon tea - Invite friends, family or colleagues around for some tea and cake, in exchange for donations to support our vital work. Make it fun by making it themed!
    • Arts & Crafts exhibition - Ask your friends who are artists, photographers or skilled crafts people to donate some of their work. You could put on an exhibition or mini auction, then charge a suggested entrance fee and commission as a donation.
    • Birthday fundraiser – Try using the Facebook tool to fundraise this year instead of asking for presents for birthdays and anniversaries.
    • Dog walk – why not offer to walk your neighbour’s dog for a donation. This is a great way to meet more people in your community and get some exercise.
    • Games night – How about an evening playing board games, card games and offer a prize to the winner. Suggest an amount to take part that can be collected as a donation.
    • Quiz night - Organise a quiz and hold it at your branch, church or community hall. Combined with a tombola, this is a great way to have some fun in your local community.
    • Sponsored anything! -  What would you like to do? Challenge yourself and fundraise for Mothers’ Union at the same time.
Recycling

Mothers’ Union can provide small freepost envelopes or larger boxes to help you collect a whole range of unwanted or broken items to recycle, including:

  • Jewellery and watches - In any material even if damaged or broken
  • Currency – Any coins or banknotes, UK & foreign (even if out of circulation)
  • Mobile Phones
  • Cameras - Old film, digital and video
  • Stamps - Loose, single, albums, first day covers, presentation packs, collections, postcard collections
  • Gadgets - Sat-navs, iPods, MP3 players, games consoles, games and accessories, laptops and tablet computers

The envelopes are a great way for individuals to collect jewellery, watches and currency. A box could be placed in your church or office to collect larger items.
