Campaigns

As a grassroots charity with over 4 million members in over 80 countries, Mothers’ Union works alongside local communities through its worldwide membership, projects and programmes.

By understanding the needs of individuals and communities at a grassroots level, we are able to build effective policies which can have a real and lasting positive impact according to the specific needs of different communities across the world.

We then advocate and campaign to see these changes become reality. For example, we support women, men, children and young people, and families in all their forms to eliminate gender-based violence and abuse, to promote equality, to help build healthy relationships, and to support women in the key role they have in building communities and bringing peace and reconciliation.

With a powerful voice to call for change, Mothers’ Union advocates and campaigns at a local, national and international level. We do this by:

  • Informing, resourcing, and mobilising our members, supporters, and the public who are passionate about positively impacting issues of social justice at all levels.
  • Engaging, informing, and communicating with governments and decision makers on issues that matter to communities across the world.
  • Collaborating with other key charities and organisations to help bring a united voice for change.

We also run three annual fundraising campaigns: Make A Mother's Day, Summer of Hope and the Christmas Appeal (partnered with the Big Give.)

16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence

Through our 4 million members in 83 countries, together, we call for an end to gender-based violence.

RISE UP Against Domestic Violence

RISE UP is our campaign to collectively stand against domestic violence as one voice.

Mothers' Union and United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW)

Since 2000, we have used our Consultative Status at the UN to lobby governments and the UN to create effective policies that translate words into action for gender equality.
