Members from the Horsham branch visit the Worldwide President

Seven members of the Horsham branch travelled to London to join the large number of Mothers’ Union supporters in Southwark Cathedral and welcome Sheran Harper, the Worldwide President of Mothers' Union.

06 May 2019

Seven members of the Horsham branch travelled to London to join the large number of Mothers’ Union supporters in Southwark Cathedral. We were all there to welcome our new Worldwide President, Sheran Harper. Sheran is from Guyana, which is part of the West Indies; her husband played cricket for the Windies, and so it was a steel band playing in the chancel that greeted us and saw us on our way at the end of the ceremony. What a ceremony it was, with all the traditional pomp and formality of the Cathedral, a wonderful traditional choir of men and boys and the Archbishop of Canterbury, who does not go in for stiff formality at all. He encouraged us all to make the Mothers’ Union more widely known and commissioned Sheran and the Worldwide Trustees to take us forward to serve throughout the whole world in service to God, to families and to women and men.
