United States of America

The United States of America (USA) is a country of some 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, including Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean. 

With over 325 million people, the United States is the world's third most populous country after China and India. 

The United States is considered a highly developed country, with the world's largest economy by nominal GDP. Yet, despite this, there is still a lot of poverty, deprivation, unemployment and social need in the country.

The Episcopal Church is made up of between two and three million worshippers in about 7,500 congregations across the United States and related dioceses outside the USA. 

There were Mothers’ Union members in the USA as early as the 1900s, but it was not until the 1980s that the first branches were formed, and not until 2003 that the province elected its first Provincial President. 
Mothers' Union has gradually spread throughout the USA, and at present there are 13 Mothers' Union branches based Florida, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Washington. The 500 members of Mothers’ Union USA represent a wide range of age and interests. 

Membership offers fellowship and prayerful support through regular branch meetings, worship and seminars.

• Baptism preparation 
• Gifts for the sick and housebound
• Supporting teen mothers
