International Women's Day 2025

The theme for International Women’s Day 2025 is #AccelerateAction, which aims to emphasise the importance of making changes to achieve gender equality. It calls for urgency in addressing the systematic barriers and biases that women face around the world, in both personal and professional spheres.

Significant barriers to gender equality remain, yet with the right action and support, positive progress can be made for women everywhere. We need to acknowledge strategies, resources and activity that positively impact, support and elevate women’s advancement.

At Mothers’ Union, our programmes aim to #AccelerateAction in long-lasting and life-changing ways, from our campaigns against gender based violence and domestic abuse, to projects supporting women with literacy and agribusiness skills. Flora is one of the learners in our Literacy Education and Gender Based Violence Programme in South Sudan.
