We are part of an international Christian membership charity and meet together regularly for prayer, fellowship and social events. We have over four million members in 84 countries worldwide and aim to support family life in communities both locally and globally.

Ely Diocesan Mothers’ Union has over 600 members, and actively seeks to support family life through project work regionally and locally.

Our work:

  • Supporting parents
  • Providing holidays for stressed families
  • Volunteering at Cambridge and Ely Child Contact Centres
  • Supporting the chaplaincy at Littlehey Prison
  • Collecting items for local Women’s Aid, refuge and hostels
  • Providing parent and child marquees at county/local shows
  • Knitting and sewing projects for overseas links
  • Family Worker Project, Wisbech
  • Supporting parents of sick children at the Rosie Hospital, Cambridge
  • Family Worker, Mary's Child (Stanground, Fletton & Farcet)

There are many ways to get involved with Mothers’ Union in the Diocese of Ely: by becoming a branch or diocesan member and supporting local projects both practically and by fundraising; campaigning on social justice issues; praying regularly for families worldwide and our link dioceses of Lusaka in Zambia; Shyogwe in Rwanda; Sokoto & Ikka in Nigeria and Karimnagar in India.
