Fun, Fashion, Discussion and Marching at conference in Zimbabwe
More than 4,500 delegates attended Mothers' Union Zimbabwe's bi-annual conference in Harare where they discussed topics of relevance and importance.
Mothers’ Union members in Zimbabwe held their bi-annual national conference in August 2017.
More than 4,500 delegates from all five of the nation's dioceses attended this colourful event. Talks were held on drug and alcohol addiction in adolescence, cancer awareness and gender based violence.
“It was really encouraging to note that speakers left time for questions and answers. The topics were extremely relevant and the interaction was very good,” Said Lizzie Zimunywa, Mothers' Union's Community Development Coordinator in Harare Diocese.
Members also marched through the city of Harare raising awareness of domestic violence. The highlight of the event was a fashion show where they paraded their Mothers’ Union branded outfits.
