Republic of Congo

Republic of Congo is located in central Africa, they are a missionary diocese of the Anglican Church of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Mothers’ Union members are incredibly active within their local communities providing a lifeline for many families through both practical and pastoral support. 

There are more than 25,000 members of Mothers’ Union combined with the Democratic Republic of Congo acting as beacons of hope in communities facing immense pressures and difficulties. Their outreach activities include:

  • Trauma counselling
  • Savings and credit groups
  • Health awareness programmes
  • Emergency Relief programmes 
  • Awaken Programme (Church & Community Mobilisation with Literacy)
  • Campaigning against gender based violence
  • Peace and reconciliation
