Rooted in Faith - our 'F' Words!

Faith, Families, Friendship and Fundraising

11 Sep 2020

At the 2019 Autumn Members Meeting for the Rochester Diocese our President, Julia Jamieson based her address on Listen, Observe, Act and focused on Our Focus for the Future and walking together "In Step with God".  She spoke about Faith, Families, Friendship and Fundraising which inspired me to use these "F" words for our branch meeting in March - just prior to lockdown.

We enjoyed a fun but meaningful evening sharing our ideas and thoughts and crafting items based on these words which were hung on an Easter Tree which was displayed in our church.  We were planning to add to the tree over the coming weeks but, as we all know, circumsances put a stop to plans.

We have kept in touch over the summer months via emails, phone calls and zoom meetings.  This was nice but not quite the same as face to face contact so we decided to invite members for a socially distanced 'cuppa and chat' in our Pleasance garden at Christ Church.   Only a few turned up but it was worthwhile as we spent a couple of hours catching up on family news, how we were coping with the 'new normal' and planning for next year when it is hoped things will be better for us all.

We continue to be thankful for the support of the Diocese and all the hundreds of worldwide MU members.

Jenny Shoesmith - Branch Secretary
