Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

The Windward Islands comprises the island nations of Grenada, St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines. 

The islands are grouped in the Lesser Antilles, located on the eastern edge of the Caribbean Sea, between the Caribbean and the Atlantic Ocean. 

The islands are prone to hurricanes each year between the months of June to November. 

The majority of Mothers’ Union members in the Windward Islands are located in St Lucia and Grenada, with a smaller number in St Vincent and the Grenadines. 

Mothers’ Union members across the islands support the most vulnerable in their community through practical and pastoral care including:

  • Educational scholarships for young people
  • Food baskets for the elderly
  • Visiting the sick
  • Baptism support
  • Campaigning against gender based violence
  • Parenting Programme
  • Feeding programmes
